Gov.uk Domains
As a smaller authority there is currently no requirement for your Council to use a .gov.uk domain name. Current guidelines state that you instead can use a .org domain name and indicate your status by using the words parish council or the letters pc within the domain. We can supply you with a domain name of this type as part of our website packages.

NOTE: July 2023 – As part of our involvement with the Cabinet Office and the GDS, we have been participating in consultations that lead us to believe that the adoption of a gov.uk domain will soon be mandatory. On that basis, we’d advise that Councils consider this when deciding on a domain name.
Should you wish to apply for a .gov.uk domain name then we are approved JANET registrars and therefore we are able to register a gov.uk, ac.uk, gov.scot, gov.wales and llyw.cymru domain name on your behalf. See here for more details.
